A new Windows to look upon...

Hope you would have tried the installations. And now I have got a little bit of information about the upcoming version of Windows, THE WINDOWS 7. This has got a pretty good codename called "Black Comb". And now, Windows 7 is very well shaping up than that of its successor "Vista". Its expected to be faster, more secure, and very robust than that of Windows Vista. But now, instead of a 7 year time frame, which was set for Vista, has not broken down as half. The time frame for this OS is just three years. Thus, we can expect Windows 7 in mid 2009 :-) And in the month of December 2007, MS released a Milestone Edition of Windows 7 for Developers. I too experienced the difference. But was not too happy with the changes made. But on the other hand, this is just a Milestone edition. So, its obvious to expect some flaws in this edition. And moreover, I too heard that Windows 7 will be having a Kernel, which will be very small in size of about 25MB (approx.). Thus we can expect the Compact Kernel from Microsoft for the first time.

Moreover, Microsoft, Having the causes for the failure of Vista, it has decided to design Windows 7, so that this OS will sit on almost any configuration PC. May be it can accommodate with the XP PC configuration!!! Sounds good right....

And as I said earlier, Windows 7 is using a very small Kernel and MS has named it a "MinWin Kernel". And MS has now come up with the new and enhanced feature of Multi Touch Technology. Sounds great right. !!!!

And here comes the feature that I never expected.. The VHD Support. VHD is he Virtual Hard Disk. And amazingly, a Multi-line calculator!!! Never expected this..... :-)

And of course, the other enhanced features like the newly build Windows Media Centre, Windows Explorer, Enhanced Desktop, and an inbuilt feature for Visually Pinning your favourite applications in the Start Menu. And also there are some rumours that the installation process will be just taking just 10 minutes!!! But sadly, I didn't fine any such fast installation when I tried the Windows 7 Milestone Edition.

So guys, lets wait for Windows 7. Hope it would open up with a big bang!!!
